Project Manager – Liz Kennick
Liz is a member of the Space Frontier Foundation’s Board since 2009. Liz was previously Vice President of Client Technology at Morgan Stanley with a $2M annual budget for 17,000 software users. She is a certified project manager and holds degrees in Information Systems / Operations Analysis, English, and Education.
Director of Education - Don McMahon
Don has over 40 years of experience in education, with 29 in classroom settings including Special Education, grades 3-8, and gifted programs. A former Arizona Teacher of the Tear award winner he recently retired as Educational Technology Special Projects Coordinator for Mesa Public Schools in Arizona, one of the country’s largest school districts. Don’s unique, innovative and award winning space operations simulation project has inspired thousand of teachers and students over the last twenty years. He currently serves on the Space Frontier Foundation Board of Directors.
Director of Operations – Colleen Howard
Colleen is coordinator of the Space Integration Module (SIM) for Mesa Public Schools in Arizona. A veteran educator, she is currently a member of NSTA and AIAA, an advocate for the Space Frontier Foundation and 2010 PBS Teacher Innovation Award winner. Colleen is an expert in curriculum design, administration, event planning, grant writing, and professional development.
Director of Communications - Joe Latrell
Joe Latrell is a computer programmer and former project manager for companies such as Agilent Technologies with an avid life-long interest in space exploration. He has flown items to space and back, designed rockets and worked with teams of talented individuals to make space available to the public. His goal is to give people the ability to do more than just watch – I want them to be involved in every aspect of space-based activity.
Director of Development - Bob Werb
Bob is one of the three founders of the Space Frontier Foundation and currently serving as Chairman of the Board. He is also a partner in a privately held, real estate firm that owns and manages a portfolio of garden apartments, shopping centers and office buildings. As the parent of five children Bob has grown distressed at the state of American education and is thrilled to be in a position to assist with the Teachers in Space project.
